This tool queries A, MX, NS, CNAME, TXT, PTR, CAA, SOA and SRV. Each type does a different job for the website, email, certificates, search engines and AI assistants. Below is what every record is and what it is for.
A: IPv4 address the website resolves to.
It is the record a visitor, Googlebot or an assistant such as ChatGPT / Gemini looks up first. A wrong or stale A record is the most common reason a site opens in one country and fails in another. If the crawler cannot fetch the page, indexing and brand answers break as well.
MX: Mail servers.
Tells the world which server should receive mail for the domain. During a host or Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace move, unfinished MX propagation can split or drop incoming mail. A missing MX stops delivery and can also stall domain verification.
NS: Authoritative nameservers.
These servers own the DNS zone. An NS change decides where A, MX and TXT are read from. Inconsistent NS answers mean different regions can see a different site, a different mail host or a different TXT proof. Broken NS stops crawlers and assistants from reaching the site.
CNAME: Alias / redirect.
Points one name at another. Typical uses are www to the apex, or a subdomain to a CDN or SaaS target. A bad CNAME breaks the subdomain, SSL validation and any assistant that cites that hostname.
TXT: SPF, DKIM, DMARC and domain verification.
SPF lists sending hosts, DKIM signs mail, DMARC sets policy; Google Search Console, Microsoft and ads panels also prove domain ownership with TXT. Missing or conflicting TXT sends mail to spam and blocks verification. Brand trust in search and AI answers depends on these records too.
PTR: Reverse DNS — IP address to name.
Outbound (SMTP) servers are expected to have a PTR that matches the A record. PTR lookups run against an IP address. A mismatch can cause rejection or spam-folder delivery.
CAA: Certificate authority authorization.
Limits which certificate authorities may issue SSL/TLS for the domain. A wrong CAA stops Let’s Encrypt or a commercial CA from issuing a certificate. Without TLS, browsers warn and crawlers or assistants may not treat the source as reachable.
SOA: Zone data.
Publishes the primary nameserver, serial and refresh timers. After an NS move, comparing SOA tells you which side of the cutover a resolver still follows.
SRV: Service records.
Publishes host and port for a service (Microsoft 365, SIP, XMPP and similar). A missing SRV breaks that service even when the website A record is correct.
Search engines, map packs and assistants such as ChatGPT or Gemini reach your site through DNS. A wrong A record, broken NS or missing MX can stop crawlers, drop mail and end a brand answer with “site unreachable”.
Google and Bing need the site to resolve globally to crawl and index it.
Assistants fetch the source over DNS; inconsistent records reduce trust.
Regional answers follow what that region’s resolver sees.
AI agents and monitors use the same DNS path.
This tool compares the record across many locations so “it works for us, not for the customer” becomes measurable. Resolvers marked offline are never queried live.

Yes. A live lookup queries every active location. If there is no answer the row stays grey. Background health checks only update the status shown in the admin panel.
TTL, cached old records and each resolver’s refresh time differ. One country may already show the new IP while another still returns the previous record.
Green: the location answered and a record was found. Grey: timeout, offline server or no answer. Orange: the server answered but the record is empty or NXDOMAIN.
